Bachelor of Science (BSc) is an undergraduate degree program tailored for individuals who aspire to build a career in the fields of science and research. Subjects like Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, and Zoology are structured as 6-credit courses, split into: 4 credits of Theory, and 2 credits of Laboratory work. Both components are studied concurrently and carry equal academic importance. Mathematics follows a purely theoretical approach, offering 6-credit courses with no laboratory component. Geography courses come in two formats — some combine 4 credits of Theory with 2 credits of Lab work, while others are entirely theory-based 6-credit courses.

Students pursuing the IGNOU Distance BSc must choose any three subjects from the following seven disciplines: Botany, Chemistry, Geography, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, and Zoology.
